Parte de las ciudades imperiales de Marruecos, ha sido la capital del pa\u00eds en varias ocasiones y es considerada hoy como su capital espiritual. Su fundaci\u00f3n se remonta a finales del siglo VIII<abbr class=\"abbr\" title=\"siglo 8\"><sup>\u00b0<\/sup><\/abbr>, bajo el reinado de Moulay Idriss I<abbr class=\"abbr\" title=\"primero\"><sup>\u00b0<\/sup><\/abbr>. Su pasado prestigio lo ha convertido en uno de los principales centros de la civilizaci\u00f3n isl\u00e1mica vinculada a Bagdad, Damasco, C\u00f3rdoba, El Cairo, Kairu\u00e1n, Granada, Palermo, Isfahan o Samarcanda, con los que hab\u00eda establecido intercambios tanto econ\u00f3micos como sociales y culturales.<\/p>\n<p>Se han otorgado varios t\u00edtulos a la ciudad de Fez, entre ellos la <i>Atenas de \u00c1frica<\/i>, <i>Reina del Magreb<\/i> y <i>Bagdad del Magreb<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Abarca tres sectores: la ciudad vieja (medina), declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, el recinto real y los nuevos barrios, establecidos por los franceses, y que hoy se extienden hasta la llanura circundante. Administrativamente, la ciudad est\u00e1 formada por el municipio de Fez (dividido en seis distritos) y el municipio de M\u00e9chouar F\u00e8s Jdid (donde se encuentra el palacio real). Celle-ci se trouve \u00e0 30 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 l\u2019est de la ville de F\u00e8s. Il s\u2019admire depuis la vaste esplanade des Alaouites am\u00e9nag\u00e9e en 1968 situ\u00e9e juste devant l\u2019entr\u00e9e. il est aujourd\u2019hui r\u00e9sidence priv\u00e9e du Roi Mohammed VI lors de ses visites officielles dans la ville.<\/p>\n<p>La visite se limite actuellement \u00e0 la magnifique fa\u00e7ade am\u00e9nag\u00e9e dans les ann\u00e9es 60. Cet \u00e9difice est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par ses multiples portes et ouvertures dispos\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re sym\u00e9trique. Il offre des registres d\u00e9coratifs riches et vari\u00e9s s\u2019inspirant de l\u2019art et de la d\u00e9coration Maroc-andalouse.
